What to do if ...

Remedying Faults

In the event of a fault, try to solve the problem yourself with the aid of
the information provided here. If you call Customer Service to deal
with one of the faults listed here or to remedy an operating fault, the
customer service technician's visit will not be free of charge, even dur-
ing the warranty period.
If the fault code E10, E20 or E40 is shown in
the multidisplay, you may be able to remedy
the fault yourself (see Faults Table below).
After remedying the fault, press the button START/PAUSE (START/
PAUZE, MARCHE/PAUSE). If the fault code is shown again, inform
Customer Service.
In the case of all other displayed faults (E and number or letter),
please inform the Customer Service and state the fault code.
Problem Possible Cau se Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
The mains plug is not
plugged in. Plug in the mains plug.
The fuse of the building's
wiring is not in order. Replace the fuse.
The filling door is not cor-
rectly closed.
Close the filling door; the
lock must engage audibly.
The button START/PAUSE
(START/ PAUZE, MARCHE/
PAUSE) was not pressed for
long enough.
Press the button START/
PAUSE (START/ PAUZE,
MARCHE/PAUSE) until the
program begins.
The filling door cannot
be closed. The child lock is set.
Cancel the child lock
(see section Child Safety
Feature").
Fault code E40
appears. The indicator
MAIN WASH (HOOFD-
WAS, LAVAGE) flashes.
The filling door is not
correctly closed.
Close the filling door cor-
rectly. Restart the program.
