
ADJUSTING DYNAMIC RANGE (DOLBY DIGITAL)
In Dolby Digital, dynamic range between soft and loud sounds can be adjusted to suit your desired playback volume.
1Play the Dolby Digital sound.
See “PLA YING WITH SURROUND SOUND”, page 24.
2 Press SHIFT+MIDNIGHT repeatedly to select desired mode.

Minimum dynamic range compression. Enjoy the full dynamic |

range of the sound track as experienced in a movie theater | . |
[NIGHT STD] |
|
Standard dynamic range compression recommended by the |
|
software producers when playing back at home. Default. |
|
[NIGHT MAX] |
|
Maximum dynamic range compression. Keeps soft sounds |
|
and dialogs intelligible even with the overall volume turned |
|
down. Select this mode when you have to keep the volume |
|
low, for example, when playing back late at night. |
|
SLEEP TIMER
This unit can be set to turn of f automatically after a specified period of time.
Press SLEEP repeatedly to set the sleep timer duration.
On the remote control, press SHIFT+SLEEP.

The “TV DISPLAY” setting and the “TV TYPE” setting
need to be set specifically to match your configuration of connected equipment.
• | The default “TV DISPLA Y” setting has to be changed if |
| you are connecting to a 16:9 (wide) ratio TV set. |
• | Changing the default “TV TYPE” may be needed depending |
| on your TV type. |
Any other setting can be changed or kept as is, according to your preferences.
