Pri Master, Pri Slave, Sec Master, Sec Slave Select one of these hard disk drive icons to configure the hard disk drive named in the option. Select Auto from the drive parameters screen to let AMIBIOS automatically configure the drive. A screen with a list of drive parameters appears. Click on OK to configure the drive.

Drive Type

HowtoConfigure

SCSI

Select Type. SelectS C S I inthedriveparameterscreen.TheSCSIdrivers

 

provided by the SCSIdriveor SCSIhostadapter manufacturershouldallow

 

youto configure the SCSI drive.

IDE

Select Type. SelectAuto toletAMIBIOSdeterminetheparameters.Click

 

onOKwhenAMIBIOSdisplaysthedriveparameters.

 

Select LBA/Large Mode. SelectOn if the drive has a capacity greater

 

than540MB.

 

Select Block Mode . SelectOn to allow block mode data transfers.

 

Select 32-Bit Transfer. SelectOn to allow 32-bit data transfers.

 

Select the PIO Mode. It is best to selectAuto toallowAMIBIOSto

 

determine the PIOmode. IfyouselectaPIOmode thatisnot supportedby the

 

IDE drive, the drive will not work properly. If you are absolutely certain that

 

youknowthedrive’sPIOmode,selectPIOmode0-5,asappropriate.

CD-ROM

Select Type. SelectCDROM . Click on OK whenAMIBIOSdisplays

 

thedriveparameters.

StandardMFM

Select Type. You mustknowthedriveparameters. Selectthedrivetypethat

Drive

exactlymatchesyourdrive’sparameters.

Non-Standard

Select Type. Ifthedriveparametersdonotmatchthedriveparameterslisted

MFM Drive

for drive types 1 - 46, selectUser and enter the correct hard disk drive

 

 

parameters.
