WebConsole - System Options
74 NI Series WebConsole & Programming Guide
Unless the Disable Module Search via the Internet option was selected in the Manage
Devices page (see the Manage Devices - Device Optionssection on page 65), the search
includes a query of the AMX online database as well as any manufacturer specified URLs that
match the IP Address of the physical device for a compatible module.
If the device specified a URL in its DDD beacon, the file is retrieved from the URL either over
the Internet or from the physical device itself, provided the device has an inboard HTTP or
FTP server.
If Module Search via Internet is NOT enabled, the search does NOT query the AMX online
database nor will it pull any manufacturer specified URLs that do not match the IP Address of
the physical device itself.
Modules that are retrieved from either the Internet or from the manufacturer's device are then placed
into the /unbound directory and automatically overwrite any existing module of the same name.
2. Once a list of all compatible modules is compiled, the Available Modules list is displayed on this
page.
Each module is listed with its calculated “match” value. The greater the “match” value, the better
the match between the Duet Module's properties and the physical device's properties.
3. Select a module and click the Accept button to associate the selected Duet module with the physical
device.
Viewing Physical Device Properties
Hold the mouse cursor over the Device entry in the table to display detailed device properties for that
device, in a pop-up window (FIG.53).
This action will not affect any currently running Duet module associated with the
physical device. The module is associated with the device upon reboot.
