Partitioning volumes

You need to partition the hard disk drive volumes for the operating system before you can store/backup data on the drive.

Before partitioning volumes, back up your data and delete any previously defined partition.

To partition volumes:

1.Boot your computer and enter the Windows® operating system.

2.Right-click My Computer on your desktop. Select Manage from the pop-up window.

3.Under Storage, select Disk Management. The Windows® Disk Manager opens.
