Recovering from a Failed Firmware Upgrade
If a firmware upgrade procedure is aborted prematurely (due to a power outage, for example), the KVM switch that was being upgraded at the time may become inoperable and may be incapable of accepting a normal firmware upgrade. Follow this procedure to recover from the failed firmware upgrade.
To recover from a failed firmware upgrade:
1.Power off the
2.Locate the F/W UPGRADE switch on the back panel of the KM0832. Slide the switch to the RECOVER position.
3.Power on the
4.Upgrade the firmware using the Firmware Upgrade Utility.
(See Upgrading Firmware via the Firmware Upgrade Utility, page 76.)
5.When the firmware upgrade recovery completes, the KM0832 will issue a single continuous beep.
6.Slide the F/W UPGRADE switch to the NORMAL position. The beep will stop.
7.Power off the
8.Upgrade the firmware to the latest firmware version. (See Upgrading Firmware via the KM0832 Administrator Utility, page 74.) If you already upgraded to the latest firmware version in Step 4, you do not need to upgrade the firmware again.
