Direct Dial In Connection (PPP)

This type of connection works directly through the COM port.

Connection Setup

1.Use a 9 pin null modem cable to connect a COM port on a PC to the PN9108's RS-232 port.

Note: The null modem cable must be wired for either full or loop back handshaking. See the diagrams on page 90 for details.

2.On your PC, run the Make New Connection setup program:

Start → Programs → Accessories → Communications → Make New Connection

The following dialog box appears:

Note: In the examples that follow we use COM1. If you use a different COM port, change the settings accordingly.
