The two front-panel buttons employ contactless, sealed piezoelectric force sensors that will never wear. Please note that the buttons do not move as they sense the applied force.

The piezoelectric buttons respond to a normal pressing action or a light tap that produces a relatively rapid change in force. They are not “touch-sensitive”, nor will they respond to a slowly increasing pressure.

All of the front panel controls are duplicated on the included remote control handset. This handset also includes additional functions that are less frequently used, as well as the ability to control an Ayre disc player.

Standby/Operate

There is a small green LED at the right-hand side of the front-panel display. This is illuminated when the preamplifier is in standby mode. The unit may be toggled between standby and operate modes either with the left-hand button or via the remote control handset.

Input Select

The desired source component may be selected with either the left-hand knob or the remote control handset, and the assigned name is displayed on the front panel.

Although there are eight total inputs on the Ayre KX-R, only the activated (named) inputs will be listed among the available sources. This greatly simplifies operation of the unit.

Ayre Acoustics has long been synonymous with precision audio engineering and exceptional sound quality. Among their notable releases, the TK-8150 and TK-7150 integrated amplifiers stand out as epitomes of modern audio technology, offering audiophiles a delightful blend of performance and versatility.

The Ayre TK-8150 is a powerful 150-watt-per-channel integrated amplifier that boasts a wide range of features designed to elevate your listening experience. One of its key technologies is the unique "Ayre Class A" amplification, which ensures that the audio signals remain authentic and uncolored, preserving the integrity of the original recording. This technology minimizes distortion and maximizes dynamic range, whether you’re playing soft classical pieces or more robust rock tracks.

In contrast, the TK-7150 provides 75 watts per channel, making it a perfect option for those seeking a compact yet potent audio solution. Despite its smaller size, the TK-7150 does not compromise on sound quality, integrating the same advanced Class A technology that Ayre is renowned for. Both models come with a high-quality DAC, allowing for seamless digital decoding of high-resolution audio files.

Each amplifier features an extensive array of inputs, accommodating various sources including analog, USB, Coaxial, and Optical connections, ensuring compatibility with modern digital devices while maintaining the warmth and richness of analog sound. The front panel of both units is elegantly designed, featuring easy-to-navigate controls and clear indicators, making them user-friendly while providing a touch of sophistication to any audio setup.

In addition to superb audio performance, both the TK-8150 and TK-7150 are built with superior craftsmanship, employing high-grade components that contribute to their durability and reliability. Ayre Acoustics is committed to a sustainable design philosophy, and both amplifiers reflect this with their low power consumption and reduced environmental impact.

Overall, the Ayre Acoustics TK-8150 and TK-7150 integrated amplifiers cater to both audiophiles and casual listeners alike, combining advanced technology and design to redefine modern audio playback. With their exceptional sound quality, versatile connectivity, and elegant aesthetics, these amplifiers are a worthy investment for anyone serious about high-fidelity audio.
