Changing the Wireless network name (ssId)
To identify your wireless network, a name called the SSID is used� The
SSID is your network na me� The default ne twork name of the Router is
“Belkin_G+MIMO_” followed by s ix digits that are unique to your Rou ter�
Your network name will look something like “Be lkin_G+MIMO_123456”�
You can change this to anyt hing you choose, or you can leave it
unchanged� Keep in mind , if you decide to c hange your wirele ss network
name, and there are oth er wireless net works operating in your area, your
network name needs to be different fr om other wireless networks that
may be operating in your area� To change the SSID, type in the S SID
that you want to use in th e SSID field (1) a nd click “Apply Chan ges”
(2)� The change is immedia te� If you make a cha nge to the SSID, your
wireless-equipped c omputers may als o need to be reco nfigured to
connect to your new net work name� Refer to the documentatio n of your
wireless network adap ter for informatio n on making this c hange�
note: Please periodically che ck for new Router firmware updates
from the “Utilities > Fi rmware update” page� Newer firmware can fix
problems, add wireles s features, and/or improve wireless p erformance
(see page 64)�
