Glossary

BlackBerry smartphones use public keys to encrypt email messages or PIN messages that users send to certificate subjects and to verify the signature on email messages or PIN messages that users receive from certificate subjects.

root certificate

A root certificate is a self-signed certificate and usually belongs to a certification authority.

tap

A tap is a user interaction with a touch screen, using one finger to quickly touch the screen. Some interactions require the user to tap and briefly hold a finger on the screen. For example, to access your voicemail, tap and hold the 1 key in the phone app. A tap also describes the interaction between two NFC-enabled devices. For example, tap the back of your BlackBerry smartphone against a smart tag.

touch

A touch is a user interaction with a touch screen that is usually combined with another action, using one finger. For example, touch and drag, or touch and hold.
