Flue baffle inspection and replacement
Step 1. Disassemble heater per “Disassembly Procedurefor Access to Anodes & Flue Baffles”.
Step 2. Removeflue baffles from heater (pliers) (8 two inch baffles & 2 four inch baffles).
Step 3. Visually inspect flue baffles. Flue baffles shouldshow signs of oxidation, this is normal.
If the oxidation has deteriorated any portionof the flue baffle, replacement is
recommended. If any restrictors are missing, replacement is recommended.
Step 4. Upon completionof inspection or subsequent replacement, reinstall flue baffles into
heater.
Step 5. Reinstall collector cover per “Collector Cover InstallationProcedure”.
Step 6. Reinstall collector insulationand control panel, reconnect control panel wire harnesses.
Step 7. Restore120 volts to water heater and verify proper heater operation following the
instructions on the lighting instruction label or the lighting instruction located in the
installation and operating instruction manual.
Step 8. Replace surroundcover on top of water heater.
