Chapter 1

Sleep mode

The Sleep Mode Setting can reduce power consumption. When the machine is in Sleep Mode (Power Save mode) it acts as though it were turned off. Receiving data or starting an operation wakes up the machine from Sleep mode to Ready mode.

The timer will restart if any operation is carried out on the machine, such as receiving a fax or computer data or making a copy. The default setting is 3 minutes.

When the machine goes into Sleep mode, the LCD back light turns off.

When the machine is in Deep Sleep mode, the LCD backlight is Off and the mode keys are dimmed.

If a wireless network is enabled, the machine will not enter Deep Sleep mode. To disable the wireless network, see Chapter 5 in the Network User's Guide.

If the machine has secure print data it will not enter Deep Sleep mode.
