5) Put in the new transfer roller by holding the lock levers of the transfer roller and adjusting the
angle of the transfer roller lever shafts (both sides) to match the transfer unit grooves. Put the
transfer roller onto the shafts and place the roller onto the springs as shown below:

6) Push the lock levers down to lock the transfer roller into place.
7) Close the back cover.
8) Turn the printer power switch back on.

Replacing paper pick-up roller, separator pad and transfer belt
We recommend that you call your dealer of Brother Customer Service for replacing. After replacing
paper pick-up roller, separator pad and transfer belt, reset the counter.
1) Press any of the Menu buttons (+, –, Set or Back) to take the printer off line.
2) Press + or – until RESET MENU appears.
3) Press Set to proceed to the next menu level, and then press + or – until PARTS LIFE appears.
4) Press Set, and then press + until 120K KIT appears.
5) Press Set. The printer is now in the READY state.

■These actions should only be carried out by your dealer or Brother authorized service center
when they have replaced the paper pick-up roller, separator pad and the transfer belt.
■Replacement of only the transfer belt cleaner and the transfer roller is not a full 120K service and
the counter should not be reset until these additional parts are replaced.
