Using the quilting guide
Use the quilting guide to sew parallel stitches that
are equally spaced.
aInsert the stem of the quilting guide into the
hole at the rear of the walking foot or presser
foot holder.

bAdjust the stem of the quilting guide so that
the guide aligns with the seam that has already
been sewn.
Free-motion quilting
With free-motion quilting, lower the feed dogs (using
the drop feed lever) so that the fabric can be moved
freely in any direction.
When free-motion quilting, use the following
instructions with the quilting foot.
aRemove the presser foot and the presser foot
holder.
• Refer to “Removing and attaching the presser
foot holder” (page 46).
bSecure the quilting foot with the presser foot
holder screw.
The pin on the quilting foot should be
positioned over the needle clamp screw.

cNeedle clamp screw
cHold the quilting foot in place with your right
hand, and then tighten the presser foot hol der
screw using the screwdriver in your left hand.
