5. Why is HDTV video not st reaming?
• Check the st atus indicator LED in the adapter conn ected to the
set top box (STB).
• If t he indicator is RED or ORANGE this means that t he
Powerline link is not able to stream H DTV.
• Try to reposit ion the adapter in another outlet i n order to obtain
a GREEN indication.
• If the indicator is GRE EN, it should now be able to play a HDTV
video.
• If the LED is not GREEN check the Ethernet cables and the
settings of devices connected to Powerline adapters (STB, DSL
router, PC, video server, etc.).
NOTE: If the HDTV video bandwidth is lo wer than 10Mbps, it may be pos-
sible to stream the vi deo with an ORA NGE STATUS LED in some
cases.
6. What if my Power line Adapter s don’t t into t he plug
socket?
• Your Powerline A dapters might not t be cause the sockets are
too close to the oor or are in the sk irting board.
• The easies t way around this is to use a trailing power strip, and
plug the Adapter into the strip. Please m ake sure that the str ip
is not an anti-surge adapter str ip.
7. What if the ho use next door has Powerline Adapt ers as
well?
• Each pair of Powerline Adapters has its own unique security
key. This means that your connection is sec ure and cannot be
confused with anyone else’s.
8. Is it safe t o leave the Powerl ine Adapters on all the time - is
there any danger of over heating?
• Powerline Adapters are CE certied and completely safe to
leave plugged in all the time. They may become slightly warm
in use - this is perfectly normal. However, you may wish to put
them into standby when not in use.
9. How much power do Powerli ne Adapters use and ho w much
do they cost each month i n electricity ?
• The Adapters use 5.5 Watts when in use an d 1.8 Watts in
standby. Prices vary between el ectricity suppliers.
