4-10 TROUBLESHOOTING
Cleanliness is of primary importance for obtaining satisfactory life of hydraulic components. The life of hydraulic components is dependent upon the degree of contamination in the hydraulic oil. During usage, proper oil filling and servicing of fil- ters, breather, tank, etc., cannot be over empha- sized.
The hydraulic system must be cleaned after a major

contamination such as pump failure. This requires removal and individual flushing and cleaning of all components and lines that were exposed to the contaminated oil flow. Flushing of the system components should be done with a suitable sol- vent or diesel fuel. Clean the suction strainer, replace the return line filter, and refill tank with new hydraulic oil.
