The video light can be used for recording movies and still images, and the flash for recording still images. As a flash, it can be set to fire automatically or act as a pre-flash to reduce the red-eye effect.

Selecting the Flash Mode

AUTO

The flash fires automatically according to the brightness of the

 

subject.

 

 

RED-EYE

The flash fires automatically according to the brightness of the

 

subject, and fires a pre-flash for red-eye reduction.

 

 

FLASH ON

The flash always fires.

 

 

FLASH OFF

The flash does not fire. Use this setting in places where flash

 

photography is prohibited.

1.Set the video flash light’s POWER switch to Manual background ON.

2.Open the menu and select [CAMERA SETUP]. Select [FLASH], select a setting option and close the menu.

The symbol of the selected flash mode appears on the screen. “ Manual backgroundManual background ” disappears after 4 seconds.

Do not fire the flash close to people’s eyes.

Do not fire the flash at persons while they are driving.

Do not fire the flash with the flash bulb covered with your hand.

The practical range of the flash is approx. 3.3 to 6.6 ft. (1 to 2 m). The range

depends upon the recording condition.

In CAMERA mode, the flash can be used in record pause mode when [STILL I. REC] is set to [ Manual background FINE] or [ Manual background NORMAL].

The range of the flash decreases in continuous shooting mode.

In normal and high-speed continuous shooting mode, images are captured at 2 frames/second when using the flash.
