Shooting in Program AE Mode (G Mode)

You can customize many function settings to suit your preferred shooting style.

Enter Gmode.

zFollow step 1 on p. 68 and choose G.

Customize the settings as desired (pp. 84 105), and then shoot.

If adequate exposure cannot be obtained when you press the shutter button halfway, shutter speeds and aperture values are displayed in orange. To obtain adequate exposure, try adjusting the following settings.

-Activate the flash (p. 100)

-Choose a higher ISO speed (p. 87)

Movies can be recorded in Gmode as well, by pressing the movie button. However, some Hand nsettings may be automatically adjusted for movie recording.

Adjusting Image Brightness(Exposure Compensation)

The standard exposure set by the camera can be adjusted in 1/3-stop increments, in a range of –2 to +2.

zPress the mbutton and choose #in the menu. As you watch the screen, press the qrbuttons to adjust brightness.

zWhen shooting movies, shoot with the exposure compensation bar displayed.

zWhen shooting still images, press the m button to display the set exposure compensation amount, and then shoot.
