Using the Mode Dial

(Creative Zone)

You can freely select camera settings such

as the shutter speed and aperture value to

suit your shooting purposes.

After settings are made, shooting procedures are
the same as for the mode (p.33).

How to Use the Mode Dial

1Check that the camera is in

Shooting mode.

2Turn the shooting

mode dial and set

function you wish

to use to .

zIf the LCD monitor is on,
the shutter speed and
aperture value appear
automatically.
zThe camera operates in
the following ways
according to the selected
function:
zWhen the shutter button is pressed halfway,
the shutter speed and aperture value appear
on the LCD monitor. The correct exposure has
been set when they appear in white.
3Shoot the image.
PThe camera automatically sets the shutter
speed and aperture value.
Tv The user selects a shutter speed using the
or button.
Av The user selects an aperture value using the
or button.

The user selects the setting (the shutter
speed or the aperture value) using the SET
button and select a shutter speed or an
