Using the ND Filter

Using the ND Filter

The brightness can be decreased by setting the ND filter on. This allows you to select a smaller aperture and a slower shutter speed than usual.

Press the

 

button to turn on the LCD monitor.

Select [ND Filter] in the [

 

 

(Rec.)] menu.

• Always use a tripod to prevent camera shake in this mode.

• Some settings are not available with certain Shooting modes. Please refer to Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 204).

Standard brightness is decreased to approximately 1/8 when the ND filter is on. For example, if the appropriate aperture value is 5.6, it becomes 2 when the ND filter is on.
