Pressing the playback button does not start playback.

-The camcorder has exceeded its operational temperature ( appears). Turn off the camcorder and let it cool down before resuming use.

-The camcorder has fallen below its operational temperature ( appears). Turn it off and use it in a warmer location. Make sure to avoid rapid temperature changes.

Cannot add scenes to the playlist.

-You cannot add more than 999 scenes to the playlist. If the playlist includes scenes recorded in MXP or FXP mode, the maximum number of scenes in the playlist may be less than 999.

-You may not be able to add scenes to the playlist if they were recorded or edited using another device.

Cannot delete a scene.

- You may not be able to delete scenes recorded or edited using another device.

Deleting scenes takes longer than usual.

-When the media contains a large number of scenes, some operations may take longer than usual. Back up your recordings ( 82) and initialize the recording media ( 33).

Cannot delete a photo.

- The photo is protected. Remove the protection ( 70).

Indicators and Onscreen Displays

- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack ( 23).

appears on the screen.

-The camcorder cannot communicate with the battery pack attached so the remaining battery time cannot be displayed.

-A memory card error occurred. Turn off the camcorder. Remove and reinsert the memory card. Initialize the memory card ( 33) if the display does not change back to normal.

-The memory card is full. Replace the memory card or delete some recordings ( 44, 65) to free some space on the memory card.

-The camcorder has exceeded its operational temperature. This is not a malfunction. Turn off the camcorder and let it cool down before resuming use.

flashes in red on the screen.

- The camcorder has malfunctioned. Consult a Canon Service Center.

Even after stopping recording, the ACCESS indicator does not go off.

- The scene is being recorded on the hard disk/memory card. This is not a malfunction.

The camcorder is on and the ACCESS indictor has been on or flashing longer than usual.

-This is not a malfunction. The camcorder may be recovering data on the hard disk. Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.
