There are four different types of mic which we will use:

1.Stereo mic (this is the mic fitted to the front of the camera)

2.Rifle mic

3.Lapel

4.Sennheiser hand‐held mic

Rifle Mic

A rifle mic is directional and so named because of its shape. A rifle mic is best used in situations where there is background noise and one wants to focus on one specific sound.

To get optimum sound it is good to use the rifle mic in conjunction with the shure mixer, in the following way:

A green cable runs between the camera and the shure mixer and a yellow cable runs between the mixer and the rifle mic.

The headphones then plug into the headphone jack of the shure mixer (use the big jack and not the small one as it is more reliable)
