Configuring the Rapid PVST+ Hello Time for a VLAN

Note Be careful when using this configuration. For most situations, we recommend that you configure the primary root and secondary root to modify the bridge priority.

Step 1

switch# configure terminal

Enters configuration mode.

Step 2 switch(config)# spanning-tree vlan Configures the bridge priority of a VLAN. Valid values

vlan-rangepriority value are 0, 4096, 8192, 12288, 16384, 20480, 24576, 28672, 32768, 36864, 40960, 45056, 49152, 53248, 57344, and 61440. All other values are rejected. The default value is 32768.

This example shows how to configure the bridge priority of a VLAN:

switch# configure terminal

switch(config)# spanning-tree vlan 5 priority 8192

Configuring the Rapid PVST+ Hello Time for a VLAN

You can configure the Rapid PVST+ hello time for a VLAN.
