Deauthentication Message Reason Codes

When a client deauthenticates from the WAP device, a message is sent to the
system log. The message includes a reason code that may be helpful in
determining why a client was deauthenticated. You can view log messages when
you click Status and Statistics > Log.

The following table describes the deauthentication reason codes.
Reason code Meaning
0Reserved
1Unspecified reason
2Previous authentication no longer valid
3Deauthenticated because sending station (STA) is leaving or has
left Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS) or ESS
4Disassociated due to inactivity
5Disassociated because WAP device is unable to handle all
currently associated STAs
6Class 2 frame received from nonauthenticated STA
7Class 3 frame received from nonassociated STA
8Disassociated because sending STA is leaving or has left Basic
Service Set (BSS)
