Mode Functions
Operation
Torecall a stored memory channel location:
1.Press the Mode button until the Memory icon
andthe memory location number flash on the
display.
2.Press the Channel Up or Channel Down
buttonto select a memory location
(0through 9).
Ifa location has been programmed
before,its associated channel/privacy
codewill be shown on the display.
3.Press the Talk button to return to Standby
modeon the selected memory location.
Amemory locationcan be reprogrammed
atany time itis displayed andflashing.
Pressthe Lock/Enterbuttonto begin.
Whilerecalling a stored memory location,
ifyou do not press any buttons for 15 seconds,
yourradio will automatically return to Standby
modeon the channel/privacy code displayed
beforeyou entered mode functions.
6.Choose one of the following:
a.Press the Channel Up or Channel Down
buttonto select a CTCSS privacy code
(01through 38) for the channel.
b.Press the Lock/Enter button to
switchfrom CTCSS to DCS. The DCS
iconand privacy code numbers will
flashon the display. The Channel Up
orChannel Down button can then be
usedto select a DCS privacy code
(01through 83) for the channel.
If“OFF” flashes in place of the privacy
codenumbers, a privacy code is
alreadyset in the opposite (CTCSS
orDCS) system. Press the Channel Up
orChannel Down button to cancel
theopposite code and select a privacy
codefrom the active system for the
selectedchannel.
7.Choose one of the following:
a.Press the Lock/Enter button to enter
thechannel/privacy code in the selected
memorylocation. Radio then proceeds to
nextMemory location, which will blink.
b.Press the Mode button to
enterthe channel/privacy code in
theselected memory location and
proceedto other functions on the
channel/privacycode displayed
beforeyou entered mode functions.
c.Press the Talk button to enter the
channel/privacycode in the selected
memorylocation and exit mode functions.
Uponrelease of the Talk button, the
radiowill enter Standby mode on the
channel/privacycode just entered.
