Channel Selection
BU-245U-E-G modem (2.4GHz 802.11b/g) channel selection is done by selecting one of 13 channels from the drop down “Channel”list.
(Country Dependent)
BU-245U-E-A modem (5GHz 802.11a) channel selection is shown below.
You can select an individual channel from the list keeping in mind that the channel will have some transmit and/or DFS constraints as indicated in
Section 3.1 “Selecting a Channel”and Appendix C.
If using the Auto mode you will need to select the appropriate groups that you wish to use and the modem will automatically select an available
channel from within the selected groups.
Note some of the Groups use DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selections) and if using these DFS channels you need to be
aware that there will be a minimum 60 seconds scan/monitor time that the radio must perform to check there are no
Military or Commercial Radars using the same frequency. If a Radar is detected the radio must select another random
channel and again go through the 60 second scan/monitor time.
Radio Throughput
Below is a table showing the maximum data throughput based on channel selection and receiver signal level.
Throughput is based on TCP/IP and there are three channel Bandwidths 20M,10M, & 5M. These throughput estimations are based on perfect
radio conditions, i.e.,little to no outside radio interference present while data is being passed.
