Replacing the Memory and Processor Board

1.Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.

2.Align the notch in the memory and processor board with the tab in the connector.

3.Slide the memory and processor board firmly into the slot at a 30-degree angle, and press the memory and processor board down until it clicks into place. If you do not hear the click, remove the memory and processor board and reinstall it.

4.Replace the four screws that secure the memory and processor board to the system board.

5.Replace the processor heat sink (see Replacing the Processor Heat Sink).

6.Replace the palm rest bracket (see Replacing the Palm Rest Bracket).

7.Replace the memory module (see Replacing the Memory Module).

8.Replace the hard drive (see Replacing the Hard Drive).

9.Connect the speaker cable to the speaker cable connector on the I/O board (see Replacing the Speakers).

10.Replace the palm rest (see Replacing the Palm Rest).

11.Replace the keyboard (see Replacing the Keyboard).

12.Replace the battery (see Replacing the Battery).

CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to the computer.
