Dell Precision 410 mini tower syst ems have eight drive bays for installing th e
following types of drives (see Figure 1-9):
T he extern all y accessi ble dr ive ba ys at th e front of t he comput er consi st of
one 3.5-inch drive bay (dedicated to a 3.5-inch slimline diskette dri ve) and
three 5.25-i nch drive bay s that can hold up to three half- height, 5.25-i nch
devices—typically tape drives or CD-ROM drives. Alternately, 3.5-inch
de vices can be ins talled in the 5.25- inch ba ys usi ng adapters a v ailable fr om
Dell.
T he four-bay hard-disk dri ve cage below the externally accessible ba ys can
hold up to f our 1-inch or up to two 1-inch and two 1. 6-inch hard-disk drives
installed v ertically. The maximum number of hard-disk drives must be
either two enhanced integrate d drive electroni cs (EIDE) hard-disk drives or
up to four small computer system interface (SCSI) hard- disk drives.
