Configuring Boot From iSCSI (BFi) Using Intel PRO Network Adapter on a System That is Not Configured With a Local Disk Using the F6 Option
This section provides information about configuring BFi using Intel® PRO network adapter on a Dell™ PowerEdge™ system that is not configured with a local disk using the F6 option.
To create the operating system base image, you must initially configure the PowerEdge system with a local hard drive. After you create the operating system image and clone the image to an iSCSI Logical Unit Number (LUN), the PowerEdge system does not require a local hard drive for booting from.
Before implementing a boot from iSCSI LUN:
•See "Additional Information" on page 38 and in the Intel iSCSI Boot User Guide
•Configure IP addresses for the iSCSI ports on the Dell PowerVault™ MD3000i storage array
