Installing the Control Panel Assembly

1Connect the control panel cable to the control panel board.

2Using a Phillips screwdriver, replace the screw that secure the control panel assembly to the chassis.

3Connect the control panel cable to the system board. See Figure 3-26.

4Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 91.

5Place the system upright and on its feet on a flat, stable surface.

6Rotate the system feet outward.

7Replace the front bezel. See "Installing the Front Bezel" on page 86.

8Reattach any peripherals and connect the system to an electrical outlet.

9Turn on the system and attached peripherals.

Removing the SAS Backplane

WARNING: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.

1Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals.

2Rotate the system feet inward and lay the system on a flat surface.

3Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 90.

4Remove the cooling shroud. See "Removing the Cooling Shroud" on page 92.

5Remove all the hard drives. See "Removing a Hot-Swap Hard Drive" on page 94.

6Disconnect all the cables connected to the SAS backplane (see Figure 3-27):
