Wake On LAN
The adapter features Wake On LAN (WOL). This feature lets a remote workstation “wake” your computer when it is in Standby or Hibernate mode.
To use the WOL feature, the adapter must be WOL capable and the system board of the computer must be ACPI compliant.
Some uses for WOL include:
•Send a wakeup signal to your computer to retrieve files remotely.
•Initiate long routines and reports before you get to work.
•Transfer files when the network traffic is low (during late hours).
•Turn on your computer before you arrive to work.
•Upgrade software on computers from a remote workstation.
