What to do if ...

Remedying Faults

In the event of a fault, try to solve the problem yourself with the aid of

the information provided here. If you call Customer Service to deal

with one of the faults listed here or to remedy an operating fault, the

customer service technician's visit will not be free of charge, even dur-

ing the warranty period.

Problem Possible Cau se Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
The power plug is not
connected.
Connect the plug to a power
outlet.
A domestic fuse has tripped. Replace the fuse.
The door is not closed prop-
erly.
Close the door;
there should be an audible
click.
The START/PAUSE (MARCHE/
PAUSE, START/PAUZE) bu tton
was not pressed for long
enough.
Press and hold the START/
PAUSE (MARCHE/PAUSE,
START/PAUZE) button until
the programme starts.
The door cannot be
closed.
The child safety device is
engaged.
Release the child safety de-
vice (see section “Child safety
feature”).
The END (FIN/EINDE)
indicator flashes
4times.
The door is not closed
properly.
Close the door properly.
Re-start the programme.
The END (FIN/EINDE)
indicator flashes once.
The water tap is closed. Open the water tap. Re-start
the programme.
The filter in the threaded in-
let hose fitting is blocked.
Switch off the washing ma-
chine:
Close the water tap. Remove
the plug from the mains, un-
screw the hose from the wa-
ter tap, take out the filter
and wash it in running water.
Water tap is furred with
limescale or faulty.
Check the water tap and
have it repaired, if necessary.
