IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using an electrical appliance, basi c precautions should always be followed, including the fo llowing:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER.

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, o r injury:

• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Turn off th e switch and unplug the electri cal cord when not in use and before se rvicing.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is ne cessary when used by or near chi ldren.
• Use only as described in this manual. U se only manufacturer’s recommen ded attachments.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If vacuu m cleaner is not working as it shoul d, has been dropped, damaged, lef t outdoors,
or dropped into water, return it to a service ce nter before using.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a h andle, close a door on cord, or pull c ord around sharp edges or corn ers. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cord .
Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not use extension cords or outlets w ith inadequate current carryi ng capacity.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the p lug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet h ands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do no t use with any opening blocked; keep free o f dust, lint, hair, and anything that may redu ce airow.
• This vacuum cleaner creates suction and contains a revolvin g brushroll. Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers, and all par ts of body away from openings and moving parts.
• Do not pick up anything that is burnin g or smoking, such as cigarett es, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not use without dust cup or lter(s) in place.
• Belt pulleys can become hot during no rmal use. To prevent burns, avoid touching the belt p ulley when servicing the dri ve belt. Allow it to cool.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stai rs.
• Do not use to pick up ammable or combus tible liquids such as gasoli ne, or use in areas where they may be present.
• Store your cleaner indoors in a cool, dr y area.
• Keep your work area well lighted.
• Unplug electrical applianc es before vacuuming them.
• Always turn off this appliance before c onnecting or disconnec ting either hose, wand or motorized n ozzle.
• Hold plug when rewinding onto cord re el. Do not allow plug to whip when rewindi ng.
• The hose contains electrical w ires. Do not use when damaged, cut, or p unctured. Avoid picking up sharp o bjects.
• Brushroll could suddenly resta rt. Unplug before servic ing.

FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

To reduce the risk of electric shoc k, this appliance has a polar ized plug (one blade is wider than the othe r). This plug will t in a polarized outlet on ly one way.
If the plug does not t fully into the outlet , reverse the plug. If it still does not t , contact a qualied electr ician to install the proper out let. Do not change the plug
in any way.
Thermal Cut Off
This vacuum cleaner has a special thermost at that protects the cleaner in case of motor overheat ing. If the cleaner suddenly shuts off, push th e on/off switch off (0)
and unplug the cleaner. Check the cleaner for a possibl e source of overheating such as a full dust bag, a blocked ho se or clogged lter. If these conditions are foun d,
x them and wait at least 30 minutes before attempting to use th e cleaner. After the 30 minute period, plug the clean er back in and push the on/off switch on (l). If the
cleaner still does not run, then take it to a Ele ctrolux Authorized Servi ce Center for repair.
