charging your battery
An installed battery will automatically recharge whenever the notebook is connected to an AC power source. To ensure that you always have plenty of battery power, recharge your battery frequently.
initial charge
As mentioned in chapter 1, “getting started,” to properly charge your battery the first time, you must leave the AC adapter connected to the notebook until the yellow battery status light goes off. Depending on your configuration, the initial, full charge may take 2 to 3 hours.
subsequent charges
After your battery has been initially charged, subsequent charges may take less time, depending on how depleted the battery is and whether you are using the notebook while you are charging the battery.
