B DISPLAY SETTING

You can change certain aspects of the DVD display screens and on-screen messages on the TV screen.

Follow steps 1 to 2 in the “CUSTOM MENU” sec- tion on page 26.

3Press [K / L] to select the below items then hit [ENTER].

TV MODE:	QUICK
		SETUP		DISPLAY
¡Press [K / L] for an item			TV MODE		4:3 LETTERBOX
			STILL MODE		AUTO
selection, then hit [ENTER].			ANGLE ICON		ON
			AUTO POWER OFF		ON
¡Select “4:3 LETTER BOX”

for black bars to appear on top and bottom of the screen.

¡Select “4:3 PAN & SCAN” for a full height picture with both sides trimmed.

¡The default setting is “4:3 LETTER BOX”.

STILL MODE:	SETUP
			DISPLAY
¡Press [K / L] for an item
		TV MODE		4:3 LETTERBOX
selection, then hit [ENTER].		STILL MODE		AUTO
		ANGLE ICON		ON
		AUTO POWER OFF		ON
¡Select “AUTO” normally.

¡If you select “FIELD”, the picture in the still mode will be stabilized.

¡If you select “FRAME”, the picture in the still mode will be highly defined.

ANGLE ICON:

¡Hit [ENTER] repeatedly to turn Angle icon “ON” or “OFF”.

¡The default setting is “ON”.

AUTO POWER OFF:

¡Hit [ENTER] repeatedly to turn Auto Power off “ON” or “OFF”.

¡The default setting is “ON” and the screen saver pro- gram starts when there is no input from the unit for 5 minutes in the stop mode. After the screen saver pro- gram is activated for 15 minutes, the power is auto- matically turned off.

4Hit [SETUP] to exit the menu.

C AUDIO SETTINGS

Choose the appropriate Audio settings for your equip- ment as it only affects during the playback of DVD

Follow steps 1 to 2 in the “CUSTOM MENU” sec- tion on page 26.

3Press [K / L] to select the below items then hit [ENTER].

DRC (Dynamic Range Control):
¡To compress the range of soft
	SETUP	AUDIO
to loud sound.
	DRC		ON
¡The default setting is “ON”.	DOWN SAMPLING		ON
	DOLBY DIGITAL		ON
DOWN SAMPLING:
¡ON : Output in 48 kHz. (default)
¡OFF : Output the original
	SETUP	AUDIO
sound.	DRC		ON
When playing disc with copy-	DOWN SAMPLING		ON
	DOLBY DIGITAL		ON
right Protection

¡If you select “OFF”, copyright protection will be activated and sound will be down sampled at 48kHz.

DOLBY DIGITAL:	QUICK
		SETUP		AUDIO
Set to “ON” when the unit is			DRC		ON
connected to a Dolby Digital			DOWN SAMPLING		ON
			DOLBY DIGITAL		ON
Decoder.

¡ON : Output a Dolby Digital signal (default)

¡OFF : Convert the Dolby Digital to PCM (2 channel stereo)

4Hit [SETUP] to exit the menu.

TV SETUP MENU IN DVD MODE

¡Language setting for on-screen menus is only available in TV SETUP menu. You can access it by hitting [SETUP] in DVD mode (Refer to “MENU LANGUAGE” on page 17.

¡“CHANNEL SETUP” menu is not operative in DVD mode although it is displayed on the screen. Press [SELECT] to move to TV mode first, then follow steps in “CHANNEL RESETTING” on page 16.
