5.2) Als voor een toepassing sensors met IIB-certificatie moeten worden gebruikt in explosiegevaarlijke omgevingen van klasse IIC, kunnen deze sensors worden aangepast door toevoeging van een onfeilbare serieweerstand aan de circuits van de aandrijfspoel. Dit dient te worden gedaan door de fabrikant of diens vertegenwoordiger. In dat geval kan de sensor worden gemarkeerd met IIC en moet deze worden gemarkeerd met een identificatiecode (een CEQ-nummer). Bovendien moet de fabrikant of diens vertegenwoordiger een “Manufacturing Declaration” (fabricageverklaring) indienen waarin staat aangegeven hoe de berekeningen hebben plaatsgevonden, welke weerstandswaarde moet worden toegevoegd en wat de identificatiecode is.

5.3) Het bovenstaande geldt ook voor sensors met IIB- of IIC-certificatie die gebruikt zullen worden bij lagere vloeistoftemperaturen dan aangegeven in de verklaring van het EG-typeonderzoek.

5.4) Een combinatie van punt 5.2 en 5.3 is ook toegestaan.
