Switchdefinitionsandpositionsareasfollows:
•Switches1through6ForEnterasys Networksuseonly.
•Switch7ClearPersistentData.ChangingthepositionofthisswitchclearsPersist ent
Dataonthenextpowerupofthemodule.Alluserenteredparameters,suchastheIP
address,modulenames,etc.,areresettothefactorydefaultsettings.Oncethemodule
resets,youcaneitherusethefactorydefaultsettingsorreenteryourownparameters.
•Switch8ClearAdminPassword.Changingthepositionofthisswitch clearsthe
adminpassword,andrestoresthefactorydefaultpasswordonthenextpowerupof
themodule.Oncethemoduleresets,youcaneitherusethefactorydefaultsettingsor
reenteryourownpassword.
Caution: Read the appropriate sections to be fully aware of the consequences when
changing switch settings.
Only qualified personnel should change switch settings.
