4.2 TROUBLESHOOTING CHECKLIST
If the module is not working properly, refer to Tabl e 4-2 for a checklist of problems, possible
causes, and recommended actions to resolve the problem.

All LEDs are
OFF. Loss of power. Ensure that the module was installed
properly according to the installation
instructions in Chapter 3, and that the host
chassis is powered properly.
No Local
Management
Password screen.
Autobaud is enabled, but
the baud rate has not yet
been detected.
Press ENTER (RETURN) (may take up to
four times).
Incorrect terminal setup. Refer to the MATRIX E5 Series Modules
Local Management User’s Guide for proper
setup procedures.
Improper console cable
pinouts. Refer to AppendixA for proper COM port
pinouts.
Corrupt firmware image,
or hardware fault. If possible, attempt to download the image to
the module again. Refer to SectionB.2 for
instructions to clear NVRAM.
Cannot navigate
beyond Password
screen.
Improper Community
