Note:
You can take pictures using the viewfinder instead of the LCD
monitor. See “Taking Pictures Using the Viewfinder” on page 47.
4. Press the button. The icon moves to the left side of
the LCD monitor.
Note:
To cancel this setting, press the button again. The icon goes
back to the right.
5. Press the shutter button to start the self timer. The camera
beeps and icons appear on the LCD monitor to indicate the
countdown, and the red timer light on the front of the
camera starts blinking.
Note:
❏To cancel the self timer setting, press the shutter button or
slide the OPEN switch to close the lens cover during the
countdown.
❏If you want the camera to be silent during the countdown,
see “Setting the Beep” on page 69 to turn off the camera’s
sound.
6. A picture is taken automatically after the countdown ends.
