4.2 ADJUSTING AND RESETTINGTHE PRINTER
4.2.1 Platen Gap Adjustment
If you have rotated or reassembled the rear CR guide shaft or parallelism adjustment bushing, or if printing is
light or dark, even at the proper PG lever position, perform this adjustment at 3 positions: the 5th, 80th, and
130thcolum ns.
1. Remove the printhead from theCR assembly (see Section3.2.3).
2. Remove the ribbon maskfrom the ribbon maskholder using tweezers, as shown in thefigure.
3. Attach the printhead tothe CR assemblyagain, tighteningthe 2 CBS screws (3×10, F/Zn).
4. Move the printhead to 5th column position.
5. Set the release lever to theFRICTION position.
6. Set the PG adjust lever to thesecond slot from rearof the printer mechanismas shown in the
followingillustration.
7. Loosen the hexagon nut (standard,M4) securing thePG adjust lever whilesetting the PG adjust
leverto the secondslot position from therear of theprinter mechanism.
8. Insert the thickness gauge verticallybetween the printheadand platen.
