Installing Your Printer Software

Before you install your printer software, follow the steps on the Start Here sheet to set up your printer and connect it to your computer.

If you’re using Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98, or Macintosh OS X, follow the software installation instructions on the Start Here sheet.

If you’re using Macintosh OS 8.6 to 9.x, follow the instructions in this chapter to install your printer software.

Installing Printer Software on Macintosh OS 8.6 to 9.x

Before you start, make sure your printer is set up, connected to your computer, and turned on, as described on the Start Here sheet. Installation takes place in several phases. Follow the instructions in the two sections below, first to install your printer driver, and then to install additional software.

Installing Your Printer Driver

1.Make sure your printer is connected and turned on. Then turn on your Macintosh.

2.Insert the EPSON CD-ROM in your CD-ROM or DVD drive.

3.Select the EPSON CD-ROM icon on your desktop, if necessary, then double-click the EPSON OS 8 and 9 Installer icon in the window that opens.

4.Read and agree to the license agreement to continue the installation.

5.Click Printer Driver and follow the instructions on the screen to install the software and restart your Macintosh.
