Cleaning the scanner

To keep your scanner operating at its best, you should clean it
periodically, as described below:
1. Turn the scanner off and unplug the po we r c ord.
2. Clean the outer case with a cloth damp ened with mild
detergent and water. Remove any remaining moisture with a
soft dry cloth.
3. If the document ta bl e gla ss b ec omes dir ty, cl ean it wi th a sof t
dry cloth. If the glass is stained with grease or does not come
clean with a dry cloth, use a small amount of glass cleaner
and a soft cloth to remove it. Wipe off any remaining liquid.
Alway s be sur e that there is no d ust on the do cumen t tabl e glass .
Dust can cause white spots in your scanned image.
wCaution:
Be careful not to scratch or damage the document table glass,
and do not use a hard or abrasive brush to clean it. A damaged
glass surface can permanently reduce scanning quality.
Never use alcohol, paint thinner, or corrosive solvents to
clean the scanner. These chemicals can damage the scanner
components as well as the case.
Be careful not to spill liquid into the scanner mechanism or
electronic components. This could permanently damage the
mechanism and circuitry.
Do not spray lubricants inside the scanner.
Never open the scanner case.
