Epson LX-300 Installing and Using Options

Bit rate, parity bit, data length, and ETX/ACK

These options are available only when the interface is set to Serial.

See your computer manual for the appropriate settings.

Software

You can select the kind of p rinter commands used by th e printer.

When you select ESC/P, the printer operates as an EPSON ESC/P

printer. When you select IBM 2380, the printer emulates an

IBM 2380.

Auto carriage return

When auto carriage return is on, e ach line feed (LF) code or ESC J

code is accompanied by a carriage return (CR) code. The pri nter

moves the next print position to the left margin when it receives

the LF or ESC J code. When this featur e is off, you must send the

CR code after the line feed code to move the print position to the

left margin. This feature is available in IBM emulation mode only.

Installing and Using Options

Cut-sheet feeder

The optional single-bin cut sheet feeder (C80637✽) handles up to

50 sheets of standard bond paper ( 82 g/m2 or 22 lb) without

reloading. Follow these steps to install the cut sheet feeder:

1. Make sure the printer is turn ed off. Remove the paper guid e.

2. If the tractor is installed in the pull-tractor position, remove it

and re-install it in the push-tractor position.

3. Make sure the paper-release lever is in the single-sheet position.
