Powering The Radio

!Note regarding batteries ! Only use alkaline batteries. Do not mix different brands or types of batteries. Change your batteries once every six months. Check the batteries once a month to make sure that they have not leaked. Damage caused by leaked batteries is not covered by warranty.

Powering The Radio

Plug the Power Cord into a mains [AC] outlet, then into the

13.5VDC, positive polarity socket on the back of the radio. For best results on AM and SW reception, the power sup- ply should be positioned away from the radio.

When the power cord is first plugged in or the ON/OFF button is given a quick press the display turns on into ON mode [2.1]. Using a quick press of the ON/OFF button will place it into STANDBY mode, with the time of day in the

display [2.2]. Using a longer press, about 4 seconds, of the ON/OFF button will clear the display and turn everything OFF.
