About the MTP Transmitters and Receivers
The Extron MTP transmitters and receivers provide a system for long‑distance distribution of A/V signals over Category (CAT) 5 shielded (STP), unshielded (UTP), or foil shielded (FTP) twisted pair cable. They are part of the Extron VersaTools® line of basic distribution amplifiers, switchers, transmitters, receivers, and associated video accessories.
An MTP transmitter converts input video and stereo or mono audio signals to proprietary signals and outputs them to a compatible MTP receiver via TP (twisted pair) cabling.
The MTP Series Features table shows the video and audio capabilities of each model, transmitter/receiver compatibility, and Architectural Adapter Plate (AAP) mountability.
