Using the FS-100 with a Computer

HD Resolution and Frames

•P2/MOV: YYYYMMDD-HHMMSSX01.mxf (and .mov in version 3.0) where the X is a letter indicating the recording format of the captured video file. The table below lists let- ters and associated resolutions.

FS-100 and FAT 32

The FAT32 file system limits file size to a maximum of 2GB which, depending on record mode and resolution, approximately equals the following minutes of video:

DVCPRO/DV	9 minutes
DVCPRO50	4.5 minutes
DVCPROHD	2.2 minutes
DVCPROHD PN	4.5 minutes

When clips exceed 2GB in size, the FS-100 automatically creates a new, file without dropping any frames. The two files have the same root filename but have different two digit suffixes that indicate the order of their creation, -01, -02, and so on. This process can produce as many sequential 2GB files as the drive can hold.
