2.2 Set Network Configurat ions
After connecting the LAN cable, you have to set network configurations of Computer
and Freecom MediaPlayer. You nee d to share a folder on Win dows computer and use
same 'IP address range' and same 'Subnet Mask ' bet ween Wind ows computer and
Freecom MediaPlayer.
For example:
Computer Network Freecom MediaPlayer
IP address 192.168.1.2 192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 255.255.255.0
It is possible to assign IP address a nd Subnet Ma sk of the Fr eecom Me-
diaPlayer as Dynamic or Stat ic.
2.3 Wireless LAN Connect ion
Freecom MediaPlayer supports t wo types of wireless structure modes: Infrastru cture
mode & Ad-Hoc mode.
Ad-Hoc Mode Infrastructure Mode (AP)
Ad-Hoc Mode
1:1 wireless LAN connection type b etween wireless adapter a nd Freecom MediaPlayer
without wireless access point.
Infrastructure Mode (AP)
Wireless LAN connection type with Wir eless Access Point.
Wireless AP (Infrastruc ture Mode) or W ireless Ad apter (Ad- Hoc Mode)
is n eeded for wireless c onnection. IEE E 802.11g wireless s tandard is
recommended for bet ter wir eless e nvironment. Freecom MediaPlayer
is compatible with IE EE 802.11g & b standard.
