MF (Manual Focus)
Page 3/3 is added on the display panel.
Use the W and R buttons to adjust the focus.
Use the LCD monitor to check the focus.
W: Focus closer in.
R: Focus further away.
By pressing the E button, you can adjust the
focus more quickly using the Auto focus function
(One-push AF function).

Mastering Manual Focusing

Use a tripod to prevent the image from becoming
unfocused when the camera moves.

STILL IMAGE MENU
AF (MULTI)
If you press the Shutter button down halfway, the
camera automatically recognizes any strongly
contrasting subject near the center of the screen
and displays the AF frame over subject in focus.

If the camera has difficulty in focusing on the main subject,
select the AF (CENTER) focusing mode and use AF/AE
lock (P.26).
CONTINUOUS AF
The camera focuses continuously on the main
subject in the AF frame.
Use this mode to photograph moving subjects.

Notes on Using Continuous AF

Because the camera is always adjusting the focus without the Shutter button being pressed,
note the following:
iThe battery level (power consumption increases because data is being overwritten in the cameras
internal memory).
iIf the Power Save feature is set to OFF, particular attention must be given to the battery level.
AF AREA
1Press the a, b, d or c to move the :
(target point) to the position on which you want
to focus.
2Press the MENU/OK button to confirm the
position.
2The AF frame is displayed in the location to which
the target point was moved.
Press the Shutter button down halfway and take
the shot normally.
To move the AF frame again, perform the
procedure again from the menu.
Regardless of the AF frame location, the exposure is always set using the area in the center of the
screen.
AF (CENTER)
The camera focuses on the center of the screen.
This is a useful feature when used for shots using
AF/AE lock (P.26).
