SAFETY
Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all.
Superheated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put into it.
To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than 2 minutes
per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for 30 seconds before moving it or putting anything into it.
• Spontaneous
circumstances, liquk]s may start to boil during or
shortly after removal from the microwave oven. To prevent burns from splashing liquid, we
recommend the following: before removing the
container from the oven, allow it to stand in the
oven for 30 to 40 seconds after the oven has shut off. Do not boil liquids in
overflow,
•"Boilable" cooking pouches and tightly closed plastic bags should be slit, pierced or vented as directed by package. If they are not, plastic could burst during or immediately after cooking, possibly resulting in injury. Also, plastic storage containers should be at least partially uncovered because they form a tight seal. When cooking with containers tightly covered with plastic wrap, remove covering carefully and direct steam away from hands and face.
