Alternative Cable Converter

Box Hookup

Use this hookup if you have a converter box with your cable
system and you want to be able to watch a second channel
while recording a TV program. Note: With this hookup you
can watch scrambled channels, but you won’t be able to
record them.
1Connect the Cable to your VCR - Attach a coaxial
cable from the outlet in your wall to the ANTENNA IN
connection on the back of your Dual-Deck VCR.
2Connect the VCR to your Converter Box - Attach the
supplied RF coaxial cable from the OUT TO TV connec-
tion on the back of your Dual-Deck VCR to “Input” on
the back of your cable converter box.
3Connect the Converter Box to your TV - Attach an
RF Coaxial Cable from the “Output” connection on the
back of the converter box to the CABLE IN connection on
the back of your TV.
4Turn your TV to channel 2, 3 or 4 - Whichever is used
by your cable system.
5With all three devices turned on, Tune your Converter
Box to Channel 3 and push the
MENU
key. You should
see a menu.
6Set the Language, Clock and Channel Memory (see
pages 15-17). Press
QUIT
to exit the menu system.
Note: With TV/VCR on VCR, you should see the
channel that the VCR is tuned to. With TV/
VCR on TV, you should see the channel that
the cable converter box is tuned to.
